I had never been a believer in using a dating website, thinking it was impersonal and too easy to be deceived. I was always a bit of a wallflower, had a limited social network and didn't have many opportunities to meet new people, but I decided I'd had enough of being single and had nothing to lose by giving it a shot. I wrote quite an extensive and frank profile, trying to give as honest an account of myself as possible. I didn't have a lot of luck at first, had a few exchanges of emails and the occasional date but didn't get any further.

After a couple of months I found Tara, I liked her profile and her photos. I sent her a smile and message. We exchanged emails for a week or so and texts. We met for a coffee at the botanic gardens and hit it off right away. What began as just a coffee to meet for the first time, ended as all day spent together. We are a perfect match and both have never been happier.

Now almost 10 months on, we live together and are planning to spend our lives together. Just this morning I put down a deposit on a custom one-of-a-kind engagement ring for my one-of-a-find girl.
